UAE Responds to Visa Ban News on Pakistanis. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially denied all rumors claiming that visas for Pakistani citizens have been suspended. UAE Consul General in Karachi, Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi, confirmed that there is no visa ban on Pakistanis, and applications are being processed normally across all categories.

No UAE Visa Ban on Pakistanis – Consul General Rejects Rumors

Speaking to Geo News, the UAE Consul General called the circulating reports “completely false” and clarified that the UAE is issuing all types of visas as usual.

According to him, the consulate is currently handling a record-high number of applications, indicating strong demand rather than a ban. Some visa categories now require advance bookings of more than one month due to the increased volume—making it the busiest period for the consulate in the last three years.

Why the Confusion Started?

Rumors began circulating after a recent meeting of the Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights, where Additional Interior Secretary Salman Chaudhry claimed:

  • The UAE was not issuing visas to Pakistanis
  • The Pakistani passport had narrowly avoided restrictions from the UAE and Saudi Arabia
  • Only blue or diplomatic passport holders were receiving visas

These comments created widespread confusion and concern among the public.

UAE Strongly Rejects Claims of Visa Restrictions

The UAE envoy firmly denied all the statements made during the Senate committee meeting. He clearly stated:

  • There is no ban on Pakistani travelers
  • All visa categories, including tourist, work, family, and business visas, are being issued
  • The consulate is processing applications in high numbers without interruption

This clarification assures Pakistani workers, tourists, and families that the UAE’s visa policy remains unchanged.

Conclusion

The UAE has confirmed that no visa ban exists for Pakistanis, and visa processing continues normally across all categories. The misunderstanding arose due to an internal committee statement, but the UAE Consul General’s clarification removes all doubts. Pakistanis can continue applying for UAE visas without any restrictions, although appointment availability may be delayed because of unusually high demand.
