Some visa categories now require advance bookings of more than one month due to the increased volume—making it the busiest period for the consulate in the last three years.

Rumors began circulating after a recent meeting of the Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights, where Additional Interior Secretary Salman Chaudhry claimed:
- The UAE was not issuing visas to Pakistanis
- The Pakistani passport had narrowly avoided restrictions from the UAE and Saudi Arabia
- Only blue or diplomatic passport holders were receiving visas
These comments created widespread confusion and concern among the public.

The UAE envoy firmly denied all the statements made during the Senate committee meeting. He clearly stated:
