Sindh Expands E-Challan System to Sukkur and Hyderabad.Sindh has officially expanded its e-challan system previously limited to Karachi to two more major cities: Sukkur and Hyderabad. The move aims to strengthen traffic regulation and improve road safety across the province.
Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar confirmed that digital driving licence checks are also in progress. While acknowledging that “system errors can happen,” he emphasized that the government’s efforts are transparent and focused on modernizing traffic management.
Massive Revenue Generated Through E-Challans in Karachi
Karachi Traffic Police revealed that more than Rs710 million were collected in e-challan fines in just one month.
According to the detailed report, over 93,000 e-challans were generated in the city during this period.
Top Traffic Violations in Karachi
The most common violation was not wearing seat belts, accounting for 57,541 cases, resulting in fines exceeding Rs570 million.
Motorcyclists also continued to violate traffic rules:
- 22,257 challans for riding without helmets
- Total penalties crossed Rs111 million
Overspeeding Under Smart Monitoring
Overspeeding by heavy vehicles—such as dumpers, trailers, and water tankers—is now monitored through installed tracker systems.
This technology-led enforcement resulted in:
- 1,188 challans issued to commercial vehicles
- 2,699 challans to private vehicle owners for overspeeding
- 3,102 challans for signal violations
Other Key Violations Reported
Karachi also recorded penalties for:
- Fancy number plates: 1,278 challans
- Tinted windows: 1,178 challans
- Combined fines exceeded Rs29.4 million
Additional violations included:
- 611 stop-line breaches
- 426 cases of wrong-way driving

Karachi Traffic Police encouraged citizens to follow traffic laws strictly.
They highlighted that safe driving not only protects the driver but also prevents accidents and ensures a safer environment for everyone on the road.
