Govt Increases Petroleum Prices in Pakistan. The Government of Pakistan has issued its latest petroleum price update for the second half of November 2025. While the petrol price remains unchanged, the high-speed diesel price has been increased following fresh recommendations from the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and relevant ministries. These revised rates are now officially in effect.

Petrol Price Unchanged for the Next Fortnight

According to the Finance Division, the price of petrol (MS) will continue to remain steady at:

  • Rs. 265.45 per litre

This means consumers will not see any change in petrol costs compared to the previous fortnightly adjustment.

Diesel Price Increased for November 2025

However, high-speed diesel (HSD) has seen a notable increase. The government has raised its price by:

  • Rs. 6 per litre
  • New price: Rs. 284.44 per litre (up from Rs. 278.44)

Diesel is widely used in transportation and agriculture, which means this increase may impact freight charges and commodity prices.

Revised Petroleum Prices (Effective November 15–30, 2025)

ProductPrevious PriceNew PriceChange
Petrol (MS)Rs. 265.45Rs. 265.45No change
High-Speed Diesel (HSD)Rs. 278.44Rs. 284.44+ Rs. 6

These prices will stay in effect for the second half of November 2025.

Recent Price Trend

Just two weeks earlier, during the last fortnightly review:

  • Petrol saw an increase of Rs. 2.43 per litre, rising from Rs. 263.02 to Rs. 265.45, despite a sharp decline in international oil prices.
  • Diesel was also increased by Rs. 3.02 per litre, pushing its price to Rs. 265.45 at the time.

The latest update reflects continued upward pressure on diesel prices, influenced by global market trends and exchange rate fluctuations.

Conclusion

The government’s latest decision leaves petrol prices unchanged but raises the cost of high-speed diesel for the rest of November 2025. With diesel playing a major role in transport and agriculture, the impact of this increase may be felt across several sectors. Consumers and businesses are advised to stay updated as OGRA and the Finance Division prepare for the next pricing review at the end of the month.
