CM Maryam Nawaz Launches Free Home Medicine Delivery Project in Punjab. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has officially launched the Free Medicine Delivery Project, a groundbreaking healthcare initiative designed to deliver essential medicines directly to patients’ homes across the province. The project aims to support elderly, bedridden, and chronically ill individuals who face difficulties visiting hospitals.
Maryam Nawaz Personally Delivers Medicines to Patients
To mark the launch, CM Maryam Nawaz visited the homes of two cardiac patients in Lahore:
Visit to Rasoolan Bibi – Shaman Katchi Abadi
Maryam Nawaz travelled through the narrow streets of the settlement to deliver medicines to Rasoolan Bibi, a heart patient. The elderly woman became emotional upon seeing the Chief Minister at her doorstep. The CM sat beside her, asked about her health, and prayed for her recovery.
Visit to Munawar Malik – Shadman Katchi Abadi
The Chief Minister also visited Munawar Malik, another cardiac patient, along with a TCS rider delivering the medicine package. Munawar Malik thanked CM Maryam Nawaz and said he was relieved that he no longer needed to visit hospitals for medicines.
Launch of New Health Facilities
Along with the medicine delivery project, several major healthcare upgrades were inaugurated:
Sahulat Markaz – Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department
The Chief Minister reopened the registration process for Hepatitis and TB patients to ensure immediate access to treatment.
Inspection of Drug Testing Lab
Maryam Nawaz inspected the newly established Drug Testing Lab, reviewing:
- Chromatography section
- Drug release laboratory
- Sample receiving area
- Hepatitis and public health lab
Officials briefed her on the quality testing process and secure packaging of medicines before dispatch.

Project Details: Who Will Receive Free Medicines?
The provincial government will provide two months’ stock of medicines at the doorstep of:
- Hepatitis patients
- TB patients
- Cardiac patients
After their regular checkups, medicines will be delivered again.
Project Outreach
- 200,000 patients will receive medicines directly at their homes.
- Field hospitals have been activated in rural areas to expand treatment access.
Maryam Nawaz Vision for Punjab Healthcare
While addressing the ceremony, Maryam Nawaz stated:
- The previous PML-N government (2013–2018) successfully ran the medicine delivery program, but it was discontinued by the previous administration.
- The project has now been revived and expanded to every city in Punjab.
- She aims to ensure that within 5 years, no citizen remains deprived of treatment due to distance, cost, or hospital overcrowding.
